Abenomics

Abenomics refers to the monetary and fiscal policies introduced in Japan in 2012, incorporating a structural reform programme and aggressive monetary actions by the Bank of Japan, which included an extensive asset-purchase programme. Abenomics was enacted to pull Japan out of its decades-long deflationary and dis-inflationary slump. It is named after Shinzo Abe, Japan’s Prime Minister until September 2020.
