Asset Owner

The ultimate owner of invested assets either managed directly or on their behalf by asset managers (cf.). Asset owners set asset allocation (cf.) strategies to achieve desired investment objectives. Asset owners are pension funds, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, foundations, endowments, family offices, and high net worth individuals.
