Asset Turnover Ratio

A company’s asset turnover ratio is a measure of its efficiency, and a good performance yardstick. It is arrived at by dividing net sales by average total assets over a year. A higher ratio indicates more efficient business operations. A low asset turnover ratio relative to peers should be investigated as it might infer issues such as unused capacity utilisation.
