Audit Risk

Auditors have a responsibility to identify and assess the risks of material misstatement in financial statements, according to the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board, through understanding the entity and its environment, including the entity’s internal control. Audit risk – which can arise as a result of actions by auditors and companies – is the risk that auditors express incorrect or inappropriate opinions on financial statements.
