Bandwagon Effect

The Bandwagon Effect is a product of “social proof” and sometimes of “groupthink”. It is a social phenomenon (group behaviour pattern) where a number of individuals or groups of people start to act in similar ways and may even explicitly agree to do the same things, or ‘go with the flow’ because they observe others doing the same, or because of social or peer group influence.
