Bank Guarantee

A bank guarantee offers security to a lender or supplier that a borrower will make good on its liabilities. If the borrower is unable to make a payment or defaults, the debts will be covered by the guarantor. There are several types of guarantee products used in a variety of different situations, including international trade. In infrastructure finance, banks can issue guarantees in the form of performance bonds.
