Bond Fund
A bond fund, which can be a mutual fund or an ETF, is a fund that invests in fixed-income and related instruments, potentially including ABS/MBS (depending on the fund mandate). Bond funds track a very wide variety of benchmarks and can be constructed with defensive characteristics (containing highly-rated government debt and investment-grade corporate debt) or more aggressive yield-driven characteristics (high-yield debt, emerging market debt).
