Buy-side

The buy side in institutional securities markets represents institutions that invest in (i.e. buy) securities either directly or on behalf of ultimate owners. Buy-side institutions are made up of insurance companies, pension funds, hedge funds, family offices, high net worth individuals, sovereign wealth funds and endowments.
