Carbon Sequestration

Carbon Sequestration

Glossary

Carbon Sequestration

Carbon sequestration is the process of capturing and storing carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere, either through natural processes, such as photosynthesis, or through technological means, such as carbon capture and storage. Carbon sequestration can help to mitigate climate change by reducing the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere, offsetting greenhouse gas emissions, and supporting the achievement of global climate goals.
