C&CE are assets on a company or bank’s balance sheet held in the form of coins and notes as well as quasi-cash i.e. short-term high-quality debt such as commercial paper maturing in 90 days or less, government debt and other high-quality securities in which there is an active two-way market and can be turned into cash quickly and at low cost.
