Chief Operating Officer (COO)

The Chief Operating Officer is a senior executive with responsibility for running an organisation’s operational and administrative functions, typically reporting to the chief executive officer. Where an important part of a CEO’s role is externally facing, the COO typically has an internally-focused role and will take responsibility, for example, for executing strategic initiatives set by the CEO.
