Cost-Benefit Analysis

A cost benefit analysis is a systematic process companies use to help decide if a corporate initiative or management decision, anything from a product launch, installation of a new IT system, new hiring, a company restructuring, an acquisition or sale, will yield positive results. It sums the benefits and subtracts the costs, assessing opportunity costs and benefits and intangible elements (such as productivity effects, employee satisfaction).
