CPI

Consumer price index inflation measures the rate at which the prices of household goods and services rise or fall. It is based on prices of a standardised basket of consumer goods at a sample of retail outlets (including e-commerce). The items in the consumer basket and their index weights are updated annually. In the UK, consumer price inflation is measured both with owner occupiers’ housing costs (CPIH) and without (CPI).
