Economies of Scale

Economies of Scale

Firms reach optimal economies of scale when higher production output in an environment of fixed production costs by definition accrues cost advantages to the producer i.e. it lowers costs per unit of production as the same level of costs is distributed over higher production quotas. Economies of scale can be generated through more efficient procurement of production inputs, more advanced technology, or more streamlined management.
