Fiscal Policy

Fiscal policy refers to the policies governments employ to allocate their tax receipts and other revenues to the benefit of their economies, to boost growth and employment. Fiscal policy is typically used alongside monetary policy to optimise desired policy outcomes. Expansionary fiscal policies entail increased government spending, which may be financed through borrowing or reducing taxes. Contractionary fiscal policies are those that reduce government spending or increase taxes.
