Floor Trader

Floor traders work on the trading floor of stock and derivatives exchanges, either executing transactions on behalf of clients, or executing on their own account as principals. Trading using floor traders is called open outcry trading. This has been now been superseded in most cases by electronic trading. One of the few major exchanges still using open outcry trading is the New York Stock Exchange.
