Forward Price-To-Earnings (Forward P/E)

A company’s forward price-to-earnings ratio is the same as the current P/E ratio -- the market price per share divided by earnings per share -- except it divides the company’s current share price by forecast future earnings (using financial modelling or consensus estimates) rather than current or historical earnings.
