Frequency Distribution

A frequency distribution collates a set of data (e.g. the heights of people, period returns on an investment) and organises it into equally sized intervals to show (in a graphical or tabular form) how many observations fall within each interval. It is used to highlight where the central point of the data is as well as the dispersion around that point.
