Greenhouse Gas

A greenhouse gas can be defined as any gas that absorbs infrared radiation (otherwise known as net heat energy). These gases re-radiate heat back to the Earth’s surface and heat the Earth creating what is known as the greenhouse effect. Some of these gases include methane, water vapour and carbon dioxide.
