Head Trader

A head trader at a bank or investment firm is typically but not necessarily more involved in managing a trading desk than directly involved in trading. With the onset of great regulatory scrutiny since the global financial crisis, particularly at banks, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulation as well as internal rules around position limits and other risk factors will be the responsibility of head traders, in partnership with risk and compliance teams.
