Holding Period Return (Yield)

Holding Period Return (Yield)

The holding period return is the total return, expressed in percentage terms, that an investor generates over the holding period. It is calculated based on the price difference between purchase and sale, including all income received during the holding period. It can be calculated by adding all income received to the difference between the end value and start value and dividing the sum by the start value.
