Human resources, or HR, is a key department in companies today that broadly speaking deals with recruitment, compensation and benefits; disciplinary processes, conflict resolution and dismissal; training and organisational development and effectiveness; driving and sustaining corporate culture and executive messaging, staff motivation and other human capital issues. At all times, HR represents the company and its interests; not the interests of the employee.
