Intangible Assets

An intangible asset is an identifiable non-monetary asset without physical substance. Examples of intangible assets include brand, trademarks, patents, copyright, intellectual property rights and customer lists. Intangible assets are amortised over their useful life if they have a finite useful life, and the amortisation charge is recognised in the income statement.
