International Finance Corporation

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is a global development finance institution. As the World Bank Group’s private-sector arm, it invests in companies in emerging markets through loans, equity investments, debt securities and guarantees. It brings in other lenders and investors through loan participations and parallel loans, and advises businesses and governments to encourage private investment and improve the investment climate. Its activities are financed by capital market debt issuance.
