Long-Term Growth

Long-Term Growth

Long-term growth is growth – in an investment portfolio, an economy, business profits – that is achieved over a long-term time frame. There is no rule that dictates what constitutes long term, but a good rule of thumb is probably 10 years. Taking a long-term view smooths over short-term volatility and up and down spikes and allows for a more reasonable assessment of real growth.
