Low Interest Rate Environment

Low Interest Rate Environment

A low interest-rate environment is a monetary policy environment in which interest rates set by central banks are kept low in order to drive consumption, push inflation up to targeted levels and stimulate economic growth. Major central banks have maintained a consistent low interest-rate environment (in fact zero or negative interest rates in some cases) for almost all of the 21st century.
