Money Market Fund

Money market mutual funds invest in a diversified range of short-term high-grade liquid money-market instruments (see Money Markets). Such funds are low-risk hence low-return and are seen as placeholders for cash that earn nominal interest (with low costs) rather than investment options to maximise returns.
