Natural Capital

Natural capital is the essence of all goods and services nature provides and it plays a pivotal role in all of our lives. Natural capital can be broadly split into two categories, non-renewable assets such as gas and coal and renewable natural assets, such as forests and fisheries. It is estimated that these two categories underpin much of the world economy, with $44 trillion highly or moderately dependent on nature and its resources.
