Political Economy

The political economy describes how politics, political ideology and public policy actions interact with the functioning of an economy; and how policy actions transform various elements of the society operating within that economy (including changes to how wealth and other economic benefits are distributed). Political economy analysis is also concerned with the feedback loop in which the speed, nature and direction of social and economic transformation in turn impact public policy and who holds political power.
