Product-market fit is an intuitive concept whereby companies pinpoint and understand the market(s) they want to serve and create a product set that meets the needs of customers in those target market(s), who then buy those products, offering the sellers sustainably profitable growth. Product-market fit is developed by marketers and product strategists using a range of qualitative and quantitative tools and is often used by investors, including early-stage investors, to decide if a company is worth backing.
