Profit before tax (PBT) a.k.a. pre-tax profit is a company’s net profit before tax deductions. That is, net income left over after all expenses have been deducted from total operating and non-operating revenues (cost of goods sold, general and administrative expenses, interest costs, tax, depreciation and amortisation) before tax.
