Public Company

Public Company

A public company a.k.a. a listed or quoted company, is one that has publicly offered shares and has had them admitted to public trading on a regulated stock exchange. Public companies are required to comply with the listing rules of the exchange, which includes disclosure and transparency requirements. Listing offers investors the benefits of proper price discovery where fair value is achieved as a balance between supply and demand for a company’s shares.
