Qualitative Analysis

Qualitative Analysis

Qualitative analysis is, by definition, non-quantitative in nature hence is rooted in unstructured data. It is used as a complement to datasets to create insight and context. Qualitative analysis in a finance and investing context uses a wide range of inputs: news stories, published interviews with management, company filings, ESG reports, analysts comments in research, company and industry case studies, parsing linguistic usage to gauge attitudes, evaluating management and staff turnover, brand visibility, social media posts, a company’s website, insights from acting as an online customer, as well as conversational or anecdotal evidence
