Bearing in mind an investor’s risk appetite, risk tolerance maps the degree of loss the investor is prepared to accept based on that appetite and the appropriate time horizon. The degree of risk tolerance will dictate not just asset allocation at the outset but what actions need to be taken in light of market developments.
