Social Enterprise
Social enterprises are part of a thriving new community of profit-seeking businesses that exist across economies but with one major difference vis-a-vis standard businesses: they reinvest or donate a material portion or all of their profits to the pursuit of social benefits for the communities in which they operate. This includes working to fulfil some of the social aspects of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, such as creating job and training opportunities for marginalised individuals. Social enterprises have a transparent and clearly articulated social purpose.
