Surplus

Surplus is a term that is used through economics and business and its meaning varies depending on how and where it is used. A producer surplus is created when a producer is able to sell goods above its minimum price. A consumer surplus, meanwhile, is defined as a situation where consumers are able to purchase goods at a price lower than their maximum price. The sum of the two is known as the economic surplus.
