Trading Desk

The trading desk of a financial institution (a bank, institutional investor, hedge fund etc) is the department that houses the firm’s cash and derivatives traders. The trading desk can cover any or all of rates, credit, commodities, currency and equity products, depending on which services the firm offers. The trading desk can operate on a proprietary basis or on behalf of clients.
