Transparency

Transparency in a business and financial context holds the same meaning as in common parlance. Transparency is critical to the proper functioning of a market economy and to the proper functioning of free and open financial markets. Transparency in financial markets is supported by onerous public information disclosure requirements for companies listed or admitted for trading on regulated exchanges, and by directives such as the Transparency Directive, the Prospectus Directive and others.
