Treasury Stock

Shares that are repurchased from investors, for example in share buybacks as a form of capital distribution, or shares that companies create but don’t issue to the public are referred to as treasury stock. As such, they are not counted as shares in circulation, are excluded from financial metrics and multiples, and neither pay dividends nor attach voting rights.
