Unit of Production Depreciation

If a company is able to accurately track actual usage of assets over time, say by tracking numbers of hours of usage and/or volume of units produced, charging depreciation expense in line with actual usage or production volumes may be a more accurate method of depreciating assets over their estimated useful life.
