Up-and-In Barrier Option

Up-and-In Barrier Option

Up-and-in barrier options give traders the right to exercise at an agreed strike price if the underlying hits the knock-in price prior to expiry. At initiation of an up-and-in trade, the price of the underlying is below the knock-in. If the barrier isn’t reached, the option expires worthless. The options may be cash-settled rather than through delivery of the underlying.
