Vulture Fund

Vulture Funds are aggressive investment funds, often seen as controversial, that specialise in taking positions at heavily discounted prices in distressed debt and equity situations and pursuing legal means through the courts for recovery at face value, typically acting as holdouts in negotiated debt restructurings and seeking ownership of hard assets (property, aircraft etc) owned by debtors. Vulture funds pursue situations involving both corporations and sovereign governments.
