Summary

Communication is said to be the creation and exchange of meaning. These principles are useful in all aspects of life - with friends and family, at work, or even with strangers. We’ll be focusing on verbal communication and conversation in this series.

When we don’t communicate compassionately and confidently, we misunderstand things, we say hurtful things to people we respect and care about, and we don’t speak up about things that are important to us.

Good communication is a skill; it requires practise. Practise will build up new neural pathways and the more you practice, the stronger these pathways will become. When we’re stressed or upset, our brains tend to default to what’s easiest so if you want to be able to draw on these skills when you need them most, you need to keep practising so please use the resources accompanying the videos.
