Fund

In the investing world, there is a wide range of funds available. A mutual fund is a collective investment scheme managed by a team of asset managers, which pool the cash of several clients to invest in a portfolio of investments that meet the investment criteria of the fund. Funds can invest in equities, bonds, loans, property, commodities or any of a wide array of assets. They can invest in a single asset class, they can be cross-asset and have an array of investment styles: high or low risk, long-only, long-short, developed countries, emerging markets etc. Investing in funds offers investor diversification benefits that would be hard to replicate on an individual basis, it gives retail investors scale benefits and puts the services of professional asset managers at their disposal.
